Michelle Lynn Cangelosi worked as the Senior Director for Partnerships for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs during her time at the United States Department of State. In this capacity, she was responsible for providing leadership for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs, a project with the goal of enhancing the economic prospects and professional capabilities of women in over seventy different nations.
Cangelosi was the Director of the Office of Private Sector Initiatives for the Peace Corps. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing all donations to the Peace Corps through cultivating relationships, working collaboratively, and engaging with a variety of donor organizations. Cangelosi was in charge of administering the Peace Corps Partnership Program, which offered financial support to programs that were managed by volunteers in other countries. Michelle Cangelosi was able to successfully increase donor support, volunteer participation, and interaction with a bigger base of financial backers while serving in this capacity.
Michelle served in a variety of leadership roles throughout the Department of the Interior of the United States. As the Associate Director of the Office of External and Intergovernmental Affairs, she represented the Department in her interactions with a wide variety of government officials, public and private organizations, associations, and other entities, with the primary focus being on the public lands of the United States. Cangelosi was also the Executive Director of the nationwide volunteer program Take Pride in America, which encouraged schools, government officials, companies, and other organizations to work together to preserve and improve public lands. Cangelosi held this position for a number of years.
